- Ideas/Suggestions: Look at the Dutch dikes, California aquaducts, Panama Canal, etc. Earth moving technology is well established. The greatest enemy that Bangladesh has, at the moment, is the Bangladesh geography itself. Why not reclaim the flood plains with a combination of dikes and aquaducts? Make enough dikes to store water for the dry season, and channel the rest away in aquaducts. The construction would help put people to work as well as help solve the water problems.

- Ideas/Suggestions: I clicked on the idea center with some curiosity and hope. But it was not as I assumed. I found ideas for ministry of different department. That brought up a question to me and to the editor of this website. How many people from the ministry of different section would actually read this? It is not possible to get the answer. About Bangladesh, I always try to be optimistic but I guess here I have to be pessimistic. I think the number is “ZERO”. Our government is ignorant. Do they even know how to browse website? Even if they know, they do not have the mentality to even observe our thoughts. I used to think poor economy is responsible for the current corruption in Bangladesh, but as we all grow, I have learned that it is not poor economy. It is the lack of education from top to the bottom of the country. This is why I have my proposal not to any of the department of ministry. My proposal is to the reader of this website, Bangladeshi people who are living abroad, who loves Bangladesh: I always wanted to be a civil engineer. During my first semester in college, I read an article in e-mela.com about the medical field in Bangladesh by Zakaria Shapon. I do not remember the name of the article. In that article he hoped to build a hospital in Bangladesh. He symbolized the help from people as “candle”. He needs ten candles to build the hospital. As a reply to his writing, someone wrote that even if he could not do anything since he was from a different background, he would at least swipe mope the hospital bathroom. By doing this, as he said, he will have something to represent to Allah in his next life. Both of the writings were so touchy. I started thinking about why Bangladesh is so poor in Medicine? We have lots of doctors, but still why? At that time my finding was lack of the use of technology in medicine is one of the biggest reasons. I decided to do Biomedical Engineering and now I am at my final year. There is a reason behind saying this long story. I had a dream to be a part of Dr. Zakaria Shapon’s hospital. We need to get together by ourselves when we really can not do much my saying that our government should do this or that. We can build his dream hospital. But where is the fund to do it? Building a hospital is not a joke. The idea is, there is big group of Bangladeshi who wants to see a change in our medical filed. We can donate, it could be money, time, instrument, labor, anything to make the fund and build it. Then we can open a medical school where the students will have the opportunity to learn the best technology used in medicine. This school will be a part of the hospital. It will be totally private medical institution; however there will be no owner. The people of Bangladesh will be the owner. That will be an example for the other private clinics that is going like fungus in Bangladesh. If anybody ever reads this writing, and think that, it is possible, then please reply me and we can start. It is a long way till the goal, but I believe it is doable only if we want to.

- Ideas/Suggestions: Divide & conquer approach to cover whole area. Distributed approach makes faster result. Re use of resources makes less resource requirement. Digital photography dose not uses films and can easily be processed. An Object oriented multimedia database can eliminate redundancy in voter list. I have already submitted a proposal at EC. My M.S course contained advanced digital image processing & Advanced OODB & RDBMS. Even I can build this software with 99.98% accuracy. Images of voters along with details could be accrued spending around 1,50,00,000 man hour in my calculation. It could be like 20,000 people X 8 hours/day X 93 days or 60,000 people X 8 hours/day X 32 days. India has started electronic voting system a few years a go. Just think about what you are doing. It is 2006; we have the expertise and technologies, why should people suffer for EC’s ignorance.

- Ideas/Suggestions: we need a proper website or educational press media to post our achievements with uploading photos through online. there are various employee, students and scholars they are achieveing diffrent awards, rewards and goodwill for the Bangladesh by their skills, creativity, and so on. For example: me and my friend we both working in Vail Marriott as Intern Chef. we are learning American Cuisine. one day we got chance to cook Bangladeshi foods for the associates. everyone liked our foods. our DAAL was great Soup to all American. here in Vail of Colorado in USA, me and my friend is only 2 Bangladeshi. so, our food was totally new to them and we are spreading our culture and test of foods to various regional people. its our great achievement and effort but nobody knows in our country, not even in other country's bangladeshi immigrants or migrants. Last week i got Marriott Oscar Award for Best Smily and Friendly Employee in Marriott. My friend went to last Olempic to cook for the athlets. Olempic organizors gave madel to best cooks. some chef got some madels anf my Friend Suman is one of them. we both are studying on Culinary Arts. not only we both, there so many students and emplyees who are putting Bangladesh Name at top of the world but due to lack of communication medium we cant really go up. if we can publish or post by ourselvs then these will inform people about our achievements. we want to inform people in Bangladesh and Bangladeshi community in various region to show our love for Bangladesh and these will encourage others to do the best for our Bangladesh. I love my Bangladesh.
