The
Montgomery County Public School has approved Sharmin Ahmad's
Book for its school system's English Language Arts curriculum .
News: The
Montgomery County Public School of Maryland,ranked among the nation's
top public schools in the United States, (MCPS) has approved Sharmin Ahmad
Reepi's 'Rainbow in a Heart' for its school system's English Language
Arts curriculum up to the Middle School level. Sharmin Ahmad's book was
placed in the highly recommended category. The comment during the formal
approval of the book states in part, "Well crafted language that
is very descriptive. Beautiful illustrations and there are aspects of
each mother and child relationship that teach lessons about parents as
teachers having compassion for others... and seeing the possibility of
good in all." In comparing the relative worth of the book to other
similar materials The Rainbow in a Heart was described as "very unique"
and a "good asset to an elementary and middle school collection."
The ISBN of the book is 984 765 002 0. The bilingual colored book (Bangla
and English) was published by Prativas, Dhaka.
